The Government of Norfolk Island is inviting community members to participate in the next stage of governance development and community consultation.
Following the First General Assembly held on 30 May 2026, Expressions of Interest are now open for two Select Committees established to examine important areas of work identified by the community.

Constitutional Modernisation Committee
Reviewing the 1838 Constitution and identifying areas that may require clarification, modernisation, or strengthening to support Norfolk Island's future governance.

There are no right or wrong answers. The purpose of these consultations is to hear community views, identify opportunities and concerns, and better understand what information residents would like before future decisions are made.
Every submission contributes to a stronger understanding of community priorities and helps inform the work ahead.
